FrontPage Website Templates: Tutorial 2
Editing Included Contact / Included Pages

Before You Start

Many templates use included content - parts of the web page which are contained in separate files, and included into every page of the web. For example, the Clear Rust template uses two included pages - one for the lefthand column of every page, and one for the righthand column.

This means that you simply edit the contents of the lefthand or righthand column (i.e. the included content) in one place, and every page of your web will reflect the changes automatically.

Assumptions: this tutorial assumes that you have a web open, which has pages with included content. Open a page with included content in "Normal" view first. You will notice that when you click in the area of included content, that area is highlighted and you cannot edit it directly.

Step 1:
Using your mouse, right-click on the area which has included content. A context menu will pop up. Select "Open Page in New Window" from the context menu.
Step 2: The included file will be opened (in this case, the included page for the lefthand column is called leftcolumn.htm). You can now edit this page as you would any other web page. When you save it, the changes will be reflected across all the pages in your web which have this as included content!
